Visit Bohali by taxi


Nestled high above Zakynthos town lies the small village of Bohali. Bohali is one of the best places on the island for stunning views over Zakynthos town and across the sea to the Greek mainland. Famous for its ice-cream coffees, no visit is complete without enjoying a refreshing dessert looking out over the magnificent views.


Visit Navagio or Shipwreck by taxi


The famous shipwreck also known as Navagio is on the North West coast of the island. It is a picturesque beach, with its dramatic backdrop of chalk cliffs, and is one of the most widely photographed in Zante. This sand and pebble beach is only accessible by boat. So you need to book with a local supplier a boat trip to Shipwreck.

Note: You can only see the ship wreck from the top of the mountain and take pictures, or you can take a boat from St Nicolas port to take you to ship wreck, where you can swim if you wish.


Visit Kampi by taxi


From the village of  Kampi, situated on the western cliffs, you will find one of the most beautiful sunsets on the island. Kampi is nestled atop 200m high cliffs and offers a traditional setting for those of who wish to sample some exceptional local cuisine. Kampi is the perfect place to stop for an evening meal whilst taking in the amazing sunset.


Visit Volimes by taxi


Step back in time and into Volimes which is made up of two villages-Pano Volimes and Kato Volimes. These are both working villages, still relying in economy generated from the agricultural areas and stock farming within the region Agia Paraskevi church us a popular attraction and houses remarkable icons and frescoes. Volimes offers you the opportunity to purchase locally produced goods and is also a good location from which to continue onto the blue caves.


Visit Porto Vromi by taxi


The area is surrounded by myths and legends. Close by in a cave is the stunning rock profile of the sea god Poseidon. At porto vromi you will be able to go on a trip to the blue caves. For guests not wishing to go to the blue caves they can have a swim. According to tradition ships dropped anchor at Porto Vromi and it is from here it is said Mary Magdalene came ashore to spread Christ’s gospel. The footprint can still be seen on the rock.


Visit Anafonitria Monastery by taxi


Here you can visit the famous monastery of St Dennis- the patron Saint of the Island. Built in 14th century AD, the patron saint Dionysios was the abbot of this Monastery. This small monastery has a wealth of history and will leave you feeling inspired at the end of your visit. Housed within the monastery to this day is the room Where St Dionysios spent the last years of his possessions. The monastery was the also the place where St Dionysios took a famous confession from a murderer and absolved him even though he had killed his own brother.  


Visit Macherado by taxi


This village is the second largest on the island. It is situated 10 km west of the capital and renowned for its 14th century icon of the Agia Mavra.  Agia Mavra was believed to have lived in Egypt in the 3rd century and was thought to have dedicated her life to caring for the less fortunate. The story of this icon is as follows: a shepherd, guided by a strange light, found the icon in a ravine. The shepherd took the icon back to his village but on three separate occasions it reappeared in the ravine. Finally a church was constructed where the icon was found.
